We explain risk in the language of operations. Findings are prioritised, owned and linked to the service they affect.
About / built for the work behind the uptime
Independent thinking. Operationally close.
Verdant Bastion Systems is an independent specialist studio founded to make security operations more understandable, measurable and recoverable.
Our mission
Make complex operations easier to trust.
We help organisations protect the systems people depend on by putting sound engineering, useful evidence and recovery thinking in the same conversation.
Security is strongest when it can be operated by the people closest to the work. Our job is to bring perspective, specialist depth and a steady pair of hands—then leave your team with clearer systems and stronger ways of working.
How we work
Principles that show up in delivery.
We prefer sound engineering and thoughtful defaults over theatre. The work should be supportable after we leave the room.
We state assumptions, constraints and unknowns early. If an approach creates friction or risk, we say so and work through alternatives.
We strengthen existing teams rather than route around them. Knowledge transfer and shared ownership are part of delivery.
A short history
Formed around a practical gap.
Verdant Bastion began as a small specialist practice when its founders saw organisations carrying security tools without a clear operating model around them. Too often, an alert had no owner, a change bypassed the control plane or recovery had never been rehearsed.
We have grown carefully into a multidisciplinary studio spanning engineering, operations, identity and delivery. Our size is intentional: senior specialists stay close to the work, and the team can work directly with the people responsible for keeping services running.
Working with your teams
We work alongside the people who carry the service.
We collaborate with internal IT, engineering, risk and leadership teams through shared plans and clear decision rights. We agree where we advise, where we implement and where your team retains control. Workshops, tickets, runbooks and review meetings are shaped to the tools and rhythms you already use where practical.
- IT: practical ownership and service handover
- Engineering: repeatable patterns and delivery fit
- Risk: evidence, exceptions and accountable decisions
- Leadership: concise context on exposure and progress
The studio / nine specialists
A candid team wall, not a distant org chart.
Different disciplines, one shared habit: stay curious about the system and generous with context.
Eleanor Shaw
Founder & Managing DirectorEleanor founded the studio after years translating board-level risk into operational decisions. She keeps our work commercially grounded and insists that every recommendation has an owner.
Marcus Bell
Director of Security EngineeringMarcus leads security architecture and engineering practice. He enjoys untangling complex environments and making secure patterns straightforward for delivery teams to reuse.
Priya Nanduri
Head of Managed OperationsPriya brings calm structure to round-the-clock operations. Her focus is the quality of a handover: clear context, accountable decisions and a next action people understand.
Thomas Wren
Principal Cloud Security ArchitectThomas has spent his career building and reviewing cloud foundations. He helps teams balance secure defaults with the practical needs of shipping and supporting services.
Aisha Rahman
Incident Response LeadAisha prepares teams for high-pressure moments through scenario work, crisp decision paths and thoughtful post-incident learning. She keeps people and service impact in view.
Daniel Mercer
Resilience Engineering LeadDaniel works on the engineering details behind recovery: dependencies, backups, restore order and the runbooks that turn a plan into a repeatable operation.
Chloe Whitaker
Identity Security ConsultantChloe helps organisations make access both safer and easier to manage. She specialises in the small lifecycle improvements that prevent privilege from accumulating unnoticed.
Nathan Cole
Security Operations AnalystNathan follows signals from first alert through to useful explanation. His investigation notes connect technical evidence to the context responders need to make decisions.
Imogen Price
Client Delivery ManagerImogen makes multi-team delivery feel coherent. She creates shared plans, keeps dependencies visible and ensures client teams know what has changed and what happens next.
